Torrevieja

Torrevieja is definitely a growing sunshine resort on the Costa Blanca. With 300 plus blue sky blue sea days every year, one can understand why tourists from Barcelona and Madrid, as well as many European cities make this their summer vacation destination. Over the years Torrevieja has grown from a sleepy fishing town to an international tourist resort with its expanding marina and more recently the makeover of the promenade to encompass a safe, sea water swimming pool, as well as restaurants and bars for wining and dining from lunchtime tapas and snacks to a la carte menus in the warm balmy evening.

Amongst all the attractions the closeness of some excellent golf courses is a definite plus. A market on Fridays which covers a large area of the old town is a must, with everything from designer clothes and shoes to bed linen and jewellery. Every evening in the summer a craft market is open from plaza to the promenade. Clubs, bars and restaurants are open until the early hours of the morning.

Guardamar del Segura

Guardamar is a typical Spanish seaside resort. Amongst its many attractions is a superb beach with its miles of clean golden sand and some very nice restaurants and typical Spanish bars. On Wednesday the town transforms into a whirlwind of activity with the market (not to be missed) as characters from days gone by appear all willing to barter for the most simple of items on their stalls. To spend a normal day in Guardamar is like spending a day in rush free heaven. Leisurely strolls through the town and then down to the park with red squirrels, black swans and a myriad of other wild life.

Rojales

Rojales is a typical Spanish small village where life rolls along at their pace rather than being caught up in the mad hurly burly of more commercially orientated towns like Torrevieja, Elche and Alicante. Here you can stroll the streets popping into restaurants for tapas, a cold beer or a glass of local wine. As with all other towns on the Costa Blanca they have their market each week and fiestas for celebrating their Saints days.
